Preity Mukhundhan: More Than Just a Beautiful Face
Preity Mukhundhan hails from Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and comes from a family of doctors. She is academically accomplished, holding a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Trichy. While pursuing her degree, Preity also began her modelling career in 2018. Balancing studies and a budding modelling career, she demonstrated remarkable dedication and determination.
Viral Dance Fame with ‘Aasa Kuda’
Preity first caught the public’s attention as a dancer. She appeared in Teejay Arunasalam’s 2022 music video Muttu Mu2, which went viral with over 4.2 million views on YouTube. Her popularity skyrocketed with Sai Abhyankar’s music video “Aasa Kuda”, which became a social media sensation.
She also performed in Badshah’s Hindi song, Morni, showcasing her versatile dance skills. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Preity said:
“I’m from Trichy, and dance has always been a huge part of my identity. Before the song, people hardly knew me. But ‘Aasa Kuda’ became a sensation and gave me a great boost in visibility.”
Acting Debut and Pan-South Indian Presence
Preity made her acting debut in the Telugu horror-comedy Om Bheem Bush. She then appeared in the Tamil film Star, alongside Kavin, and took a significant leap with the devotional epic Kannappa, which featured appearances by Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar.
Her Malayalam debut came with the 2025 film Maine Pyar Kiya, starring opposite Hridu Haroon. In Sarvam Maya, Preity plays the role of Saadhya, which earned her praise from audiences and critics alike. Speaking to Filmfare, she said:

From Modelling to Acting
Despite her success, Preity admits that becoming an actress wasn’t part of her original plan. In an interview with TOI, she shared:
“My parents are doctors and have no connection to the entertainment industry. I started modelling because I loved it, and acting gradually became a new journey. Modelling gave me a platform to showcase my personality, and the film industry made the experience even more interesting.”
