His last role on television was in 2019. He played Kormy on the sitcom The Goldbergs. His final on-screen role was in 2023. He played Dr. Wells in the film Unexpected.

His family confirmed his death in a statement. They shared the news with heavy hearts.

“After a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, family, and friends, we share the heartbreaking news of the death of Pat Finn,” the statement read.

The family said Finn bravely battled cancer for several years. They added a note about his love for football.

“In Pat’s final days, he often showed the biggest signs when the Bears scored a touchdown,” they shared. “No pressure, Bears – just saying – do it for Pat.”

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Finn. He also leaves behind his three children: Cassidy, Caitlin, and Ryan.

Finn’s career began in television in the 1990s. The Chicago native first appeared on The George Wendt Show.

He had a memorable role on the hit show Friends. He played Dr. Roger, Monica Geller’s boyfriend. He appeared in a two-part episode called “The One That Could Have Been.”

He also played Joe Mayo in an episode of Seinfeld. Other TV credits include Murphy Brown.

In film, Finn appeared in Dude, Where’s My Car? and It’s Complicated.

Beyond acting, Finn was also an educator. He taught at the University of Colorado. He also taught at his alma mater, Marquette University.

Finn was first diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022. After a period of remission, the cancer returned and spread. A GoFundMe campaign raised over $120,000 to help with his medical costs.

His family said his legacy will live on. They said it will continue through his family and the many people he touched.
