A huge set of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein was released on Friday, December 19. The files contain many photos. Former President Bill Clinton appears in several of them. The photos show him with Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
One photo shows Clinton in a pool. He is with Maxwell and other women whose faces are hidden. Another picture shows him smiling next to a woman on a private jet. There is also a strange painting of Clinton wearing a blue dress and high heels.
After the files came out, a spokesperson for Clinton responded. Angel Urena is Clinton’s chief of staff. He released a strong statement. He accused Donald Trump of trying to use Clinton as a “scapegoat.”
Urena said the files were released on a Friday night on purpose. He claimed this was to distract people. “The White House hasn’t been hiding these files for months only to dump them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton,” he wrote on X.
His statement suggested the release was political. “This is about shielding themselves from what comes next,” he said. He added that the story is “not about Bill Clinton. Never has, never will be.”
Clinton’s Ties to Epstein Shown in Photos
The photos in the files show Clinton in many social situations. He is pictured with famous people like Michael Jackson and singer Diana Ross. Another photo shows him at dinner with rock star Mick Jagger and Ghislaine Maxwell.
One image shows Clinton and Epstein together. They are both wearing silk shirts and smiling. Another photo places Clinton in a famous historical site called the Churchill War Rooms. He is there with Maxwell and actor Kevin Spacey.
Clinton’s team says he cut ties with Epstein long ago. They say he stopped seeing him once Epstein’s bad behavior was known. The statement divides people into two groups.
“The first knew nothing and cut Epstein off before his crimes came to light. The second group continued relationships with him after,” Urena’s statement said. “We’re in the first group.”
This comment seems to point a finger at Trump. It suggests Trump might be in the second group.
Trump’s Connection to the Case
Donald Trump’s name has also been linked to Epstein. In the past, Trump claimed Clinton visited Epstein’s island many times. Clinton has denied this.
The newly released files, however, show very few pictures of Trump. He appears in a couple of photos in Epstein’s home. One shows a framed picture of Trump and his wife Melania. Another shows Epstein holding a check signed by Trump.
Old emails from Epstein were also discussed. Some emails suggest Trump met with Epstein’s victims. One email from Epstein says, “Trump knew of it. and came to my house many times.”
Trump has always denied being close friends with Epstein. He says they had a falling out in the early 2000s. After the files were released, Trump called for an investigation into Clinton and other Democrats.
The statement from Clinton’s office ended with a direct message. “Everyone, especially MAGA, expects answers, not scapegoats,” it said. This keeps the focus on the political battle between the two former presidents.
