Trump Comments on Epstein Files, Shows Sympathy for Bill Clinton

The release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein has caused a political storm. President Donald Trump has now spoken about it. His comments included a rare show of sympathy for another former president, Bill Clinton.

The U.S. Justice Department released many files on December 19, 2025. But the release was messy and is causing more arguments.

A Problematic Release

Congress ordered the files to be made public by a certain date. The Justice Department missed that deadline. When they did release files, many pages were heavily blacked out to hide information.

Even stranger, 16 files were temporarily removed from the official website a day later. One of the removed photos showed Donald and Melania Trump with Jeffrey Epstein. Officials said they took the files down to review victim privacy, then put them back.

Trump’s Response

Donald Trump spoke from his Mar-a-Lago resort. He focused on the damage the files could do to people’s reputations. He called the situation a “terrible thing” for well-respected people who were only at the same parties as Epstein.

In a surprising moment, Trump talked about Bill Clinton. He said he hated seeing photos from the files that involved Clinton. One photo is a painting found in Epstein’s home. It shows Clinton wearing a blue dress.

Ongoing Political Battle

The messy release has angered lawmakers in Congress. Some are now threatening legal action against Attorney General Pam Bondi. They want the full, unedited files released to the public immediately.

The government defends the blacked-out sections. They say they are protecting the privacy of over 1,200 victims in the case.

As the year 2026 begins, the fight over these files continues. The public wants to see the full truth, but the government is still controlling what information is shared.
