Thrissur, January 7, 2026: In a tragic incident, Shilpa (30) and her five-year-old son, Akshayajith, were found dead at their home in Ambalakkavu, Thrissur, police said.
Authorities suspect that Shilpa may have taken her own life after killing her child.
According to police, the child was found lying on a bed inside a room, while Shilpa was discovered hanging nearby.
The victim’s husband told police that he was in another room due to illness. When the room remained locked for a long time in the morning, he entered and found both of them dead.
A senior police officer said, “It is suspected that the mother strangulated the child before taking her own life. The exact cause of death can only be confirmed after the post-mortem.”
Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
