Who is Dinesh Ranwa? Driver Behind Deadly Audi Crash in Jaipur That Killed 2 and Injured 16

Jaipur, January 10, 2026: A luxury Audi car crashed into pedestrians and roadside stalls late Friday night in Jaipur’s Journalist Colony near Kharabas Circle, killing two people and injuring 16 others. Authorities have identified the main accused as Dinesh Ranwa, a solar businessman from Churu, who was allegedly driving under the influence while racing another car.

Details of the Jaipur Audi Car Accident

The accident occurred around 9:30 pm. Witnesses reported that the Audi first hit a road divider at high speed before going out of control, ramming into stalls, carts, and people for nearly 30 meters. Multiple stalls were destroyed, and a parked car was overturned in the chaos.

Police recovered mobile phones of all the accused from the car, which has a Daman and Diu registration (DD02G5709). Three people, including a Jaipur Police constable, are currently absconding, prompting a city-wide search.

Dinesh Ranwa and Other Accused

According to police statements, the Audi was racing another vehicle just before the crash. An occupant of the car, identified as Pappu, confirmed that Dinesh Ranwa was driving the Audi while two others were also in the car. Investigators suspect all four occupants were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Pappu, who was handed over to police by locals, revealed that Dinesh had called him to Kharabas Circle before engaging in the fatal street race. The other vehicle reportedly fled the scene.

Victims and Injuries

Sixteen people sustained injuries in the crash. Those admitted to Jaipuria Hospital include: Rakesh, Deepak, Mridul, Chhota, Ravi Jain, Rajesh, Paras, Dharmaraj, Prakash, Ashish, Diwan, Deshraj, and Ramesh Bairwa. Three others received first aid and were discharged. Many victims are undergoing treatment for fractures and head injuries.

Police and Government Response

Police from Muhana and Journalist Colony stations quickly reached the site and seized the Audi. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma instructed authorities to provide proper care for the injured, while Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa visited the accident scene and hospitals.

Officials have emphasized strict action once all accused are apprehended. Investigations continue into drunk driving, street racing, and criminal negligence.

Street Racing Concerns in Jaipur

The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who claim that illegal racing and overspeeding have become increasingly common. Locals believe that the casualties could have been higher if pedestrians had not managed to escape in time.
