Ragesh Killed in KSRTC Electric Bus Collision Hours Before His Wedding in Thiruvananthapuram

A tragic road accident claimed the life of Ragesh, a 28-year-old man, after his motorcycle collided with a KSRTC electric bus in the Sreekaryam area early Monday morning, police said.

Ragesh, a resident of Chempazhanthy Chellamangalam, was supposed to get married later the same morning at a local temple.

Accident Happened Around 1 AM

The accident took place at around 1 am at Pangappara Manguzhy. Police said Ragesh’s motorcycle rammed into a Swift electric bus that was heading towards Vikas Bhavan after charging at the Kaniyapuram depot.

Severe Injuries, Died on the Spot

Ragesh suffered serious head injuries in the crash and died on the spot. The motorcycle was completely damaged due to the impact, police added.

Marriage Was Planned Secretly

According to police, the families of the couple were reportedly against the relationship. Because of this, the couple had decided to marry quietly at a temple and later register the marriage officially.

They had also rented a house at Chanthavila to begin their life together.

Returning Home When Accident Occurred

Police said the accident happened while Ragesh was returning home after visiting a relative’s house late at night.

Investigation Underway

The Sreekaryam police have started an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being checked to determine the exact cause of the accident.

A case will be registered after the preliminary investigation is completed.

Body to Be Handed Over After Postmortem

Police said Ragesh’s body will be handed over to his family after the postmortem examination.

The incident has left both families and the local community in deep shock, especially as it occurred just hours before the planned wedding.
