A missing person complaint in Lucknow slowly turned into one of the most shocking murder cases in Uttar Pradesh this year. The case, now known as the Lucknow Blue Drum murder case, exposed a disturbing crime inside a family home in the Ashiyana area.

Here is a clear and simple breakdown of what happened and how police solved it.

Who Was The Victim?

The victim was Manvendra Singh, 49, owner of Vardhman Pathology Lab. He lived at House No. 91 in Sector L, Ashiyana.

Manvendra had been missing since the morning of February 20.

Ironically, it was his own son, Akshat Singh, 21, who went to the police to file the missing complaint.

How Suspicion Began

Akshat told police that his father woke him at around 6 am and said he was going to Delhi. He claimed his father never returned and all three of his mobile phones were switched off.

Police traced the last phone location to Kakori, where the pathology lab is located. However, no evidence was found there.

During questioning, officers noticed inconsistencies in Akshat’s statements. He changed his version multiple times. At one point, he even claimed his father died by suicide.

This raised serious doubts.

The Confession

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikrant Veer, Akshat later confessed.

He allegedly told police that an argument broke out at around 4:30 am on February 20. In anger, he picked up a licensed rifle and shot his father.

Police say Manvendra died on the spot.

Investigators revealed disturbing details.

Akshat allegedly dragged the body from the third floor to the ground floor. He then used an empty room to dismember the body.

Some body parts were packed into a car and dumped in Sadrauna. The torso was stuffed inside a blue drum and kept in the house.

Police recovered the drum from the Ashiyana residence. Efforts are still ongoing to locate the severed head.

Forensic teams collected evidence from the house and the car, where blood traces were found.

Sister Witnessed The Crime

Police said the accused’s sister, Kriti, a Class 11 student, witnessed the shooting.

Investigators believe he threatened her to stay silent. Fear may have stopped her from reporting the crime earlier.

What We Know About The Family

Manvendra Singh was originally from Jalaun district. Apart from running a pathology lab, he was reportedly involved in the liquor business.

His wife passed away nine years ago. The family includes his son Akshat and daughter Kriti.

His father, Surendra Pal Singh, a retired Uttar Pradesh Police officer, arrived at the house visibly shaken after the news spread.

Motive Still Unclear

Although Akshat has confessed, police are still investigating the exact motive behind the fatal argument.

Legal proceedings have begun.

Why The Term “Blue Drum” Is Haunting Again

This case has reminded many of the 2024 Meerut blue drum murder, where a dismembered body was also hidden inside a drum.

The phrase “blue drum” has now become linked with brutal domestic crimes in Uttar Pradesh, sending fresh shockwaves across the state.

Final Words

The Lucknow Blue Drum murder case shows how a missing complaint led investigators to uncover a horrifying truth inside a family home.

Police continue to search for remaining body parts and gather forensic evidence.

Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
