Sadie Sink is talking about a big lesson she learned. The 23-year-old actress is set to star in a new Marvel movie. It is called Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Recently, she opened up about her early career. She began acting when she was just seven years old. She started in a local community theater.
She later became very famous. Her big break was on the Netflix show Stranger Things. She played the character Max Mayfield. This role made her a star.
Now, Sadie is looking back on those early days. She admits she was very hard on herself. She talked about this in an interview with Glamour magazine.
“Right now, what I feel the most is how much I’ve grown as an actor,” she said.
She also said she usually hates watching herself on screen. But she can now watch her old work. She can look at Stranger Things Season Two.
“When I think of how nervous I was back then… I didn’t know if I was a good actor. I didn’t know if people would like me or my character. I didn’t know if I fit in,” she shared.
Now, she sees it differently. “Now I’m like, I was doing a great job!” she said.
She calls this an “important lesson.” She has grown as a person. She still has moments of self-doubt. But she can now appreciate her own hard work. She can feel proud of what she has done.
Sadie also earned a big honor this year. She got her first Tony Award nomination. It was for Best Actress in a play called John Proctor Is the Villain.
She has also starred in the movie Dear Zoe and the film O’Dessa. Her career continues to grow as she learns to be kinder to herself.
