Mumbai, February 27: A foreign travel vlogger, Ines Faria, has shared a video alleging harassment in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi area.

The clip, posted on Instagram, shows two men repeatedly asking her for a selfie despite her refusing several times. The video has since gone viral and sparked debate online.

    What Happened?

In the footage, Faria is seen walking through a busy public space while a man walks closely beside her.

He can be heard saying, “One selfie please, gori ma’am please,” even after she clearly says no.

According to Faria, the men followed her and her companion for more than 15 minutes.

She later wrote that she felt uncomfortable and overwhelmed. At one point, she pushed one of the men away and threatened to call the police to create space.

    Her Response

In her caption, Faria explained that this was the first time she experienced such behaviour during her two months of travel in India.

She added that she did not want the incident to define her overall experience.

“Most of my experience has been beautiful, kind and welcoming,” she wrote, stressing that the actions of a few individuals do not represent everyone she met.

    Online Reaction

The video triggered strong reactions on social media.

Many users apologised and praised her for handling the situation calmly. Others pointed out that ignoring a clear “no” turns a simple request into harassment.

Several comments highlighted the importance of respecting personal boundaries in public spaces.

    Wider Conversation

The incident has renewed discussion about women’s safety and respectful behaviour.

Repeated requests for photos may seem harmless to some, but when someone says no, continuing to insist crosses a line.

The video continues to circulate widely online, keeping the conversation active.
