March 17: Rumours about a sequel to the iconic Bollywood film 3 Idiots continue to circulate, but actor Mona Singh says she has not been contacted about the project.
The original film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, remains one of India’s most loved movies since its release in 2009.
“I Haven’t Gotten Any Call Yet”
In a recent interview, Mona Singh addressed the ongoing speculation and made it clear that she is unaware of any confirmed plans.
She said she had heard about the sequel rumours but assumed they were not true. In a light-hearted comment, she added that if a sequel were happening, her on-screen son would be “a footballer by now.”
Mona Singh played Mona Sahastrabuddhe in the film, the elder daughter of Virus, portrayed by Boman Irani, and sister to Pia, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan.

While denying any formal discussions, Aamir Khan shared that he would be open to the idea. He mentioned that Rancho remains one of his most popular characters and that he would enjoy revisiting the role.
Still, he confirmed that no one has contacted him about a sequel so far.
