Drivers across the UK are facing parking frustrations as the popular RingGo app experiences a nationwide outage. The app, which allows users to pay for parking via smartphone or online, appears to be down, leaving motorists unable to pay for parking in several towns and cities.
According to Downdetector, reports of the outage have surged, confirming widespread issues. Dozens of users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration. One driver shared:
“Just spent 30 minutes trying to pay for my parking. App won’t work, can’t log in, can’t reset, can’t register – deleted and reinstalled – still nothing! I better not get a ticket!”
Other users reported similar problems:
-
@RingGo_parking Your app isn’t working. I have no other means of paying for parking. Will I now get a fine?
-
@RingGo_parking sort out your service. The app isn’t working, the phone number is unavailable, and the website login shows a 504 gateway time-out. How many fines are people already getting today because of this?
Even RingGo’s live chat was affected, with one user spending 20 minutes trying to access the service. A RingGo operator responded:
“Apologies, we are experiencing intermittent issues at the moment but are working as quickly as possible to resolve this. Thank you for your continued patience.”
RingGo is widely used, offering mobile parking services at 17,000 locations across 500 towns and cities in the UK. The service is operated by Swedish-based EasyPark, a global parking technology company.
As of now, RingGo has not released an official statement on the outage or when service will be fully restored. Motorists are advised to keep receipts and parking tickets in case enforcement officers question payments during the downtime.
