The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will soon release the GATE 2026 admit card on its official website. The hall ticket was earlier expected to be issued by January 7, but the release has been postponed.
IIT Guwahati informed candidates about the delay through an official notice published on January 2, 2026. The institute stated that the new admit card release date will be announced shortly. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official GATE website for the latest updates.
Once released, the admit cards will be available for download at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will be conducted on the following dates:

Negative Marking Rules in GATE 2026
Negative marking applies only to MCQ-type questions:

1-mark MCQ: 1/3 mark deduction

2-mark MCQ: 2/3 mark deduction
There is no negative marking for NAT or MSQ questions.
GATE 2026 Scorecard Validity
The GATE 2026 scorecard will remain valid for three years from the date of result declaration. The score can be used for admissions, PSU recruitment, and higher studies.
