Kasang Kropi, 70, died after being crushed by a wild elephant in Assam’s West Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday, according to authorities.
The event occurred in Hijunglangsang village, which is part of the Jirikideng police station area.
What happened?
According to authorities, Kasang Kropi was coming from a religious event with a group of ladies when they came across a herd of wild elephants.
During their interaction, one elephant attacked and trampled her. The other ladies managed to get away by leaving the location.
Police Action
Police verified that Kasang Kropi died on the scene. Her corpse has been submitted for a postmortem examination.
