A 22-year-old Indian postgraduate student, Saketh Sreenivasaiah, has gone missing in the United States, raising concern among authorities and the Indian community. The student, who hails from Karnataka, was studying at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to local reports, he disappeared earlier this week in California. Police have launched efforts to trace his whereabouts.

Saketh Sreenivasaiah was pursuing postgraduate studies at UC Berkeley. He was last seen in the 1700 block of Dwight Way, according to police statements quoted by local media.

Reports also said that his backpack was found on a doorstep in the Park Hills neighbourhood. The bag reportedly contained his passport and laptop, adding to the concern around his disappearance.

Indian Consulate Responds

The Consulate General of India, San Francisco has expressed deep concern over the case. In a post on X, the Consulate said it is in touch with Saketh’s family and is coordinating with local authorities to help locate him.

Officials have assured that efforts are ongoing to trace the missing student.

Local police in Berkeley are investigating the case. Authorities have not yet shared further details about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
