The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office released a detailed medical report this week denying rumors that Benjamin Netanyahu is suffering from prostate cancer. While the report attempts to shut down speculation, it comes at a time when the Prime Minister is already facing intense criticism both at home and abroad.

The health disclosure may calm medical rumors, but it does little to ease political tensions surrounding his leadership.

What The Official Report Says

According to the statement, Netanyahu underwent prostate removal surgery in late December 2024. Doctors confirmed that the tissue tested benign and showed no signs of cancer.

The report, signed by his personal physician Dr. Tzvi Herman Berkowitz along with specialists from Hadassah Medical Center, states that his overall condition is “completely stable.”

It also confirms:

  • His pacemaker, implanted in July 2023, is functioning normally.

  • Blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels are within normal range.

  • A recent colonoscopy showed no concerning findings.

He is currently being treated with antibiotics for a urinary tract infection.

Why The Timing Matters

The release of the report follows weeks of social media speculation about Netanyahu’s health. Observers had noticed the use of a catheter in recent months, which officials now say was due to benign prostate enlargement.

However, critics argue that health transparency has long been an issue under Netanyahu’s leadership. During his 2023 pacemaker procedure, officials were accused of limited disclosure.

Some political opponents question whether this latest health update is an attempt to control the narrative during a period of declining public trust.
