On February 24, 2026, reports surfaced claiming that Igor Komarov, the 28-year-old son of alleged Ukrainian crime figure Oleksandr “Narik” Petrovsky, was kidnapped in Bali.
A disturbing video circulating on X shows a bruised Komarov allegedly pleading for help while kidnappers demand USD 10 million in ransom.
However, Ukrainian officials say they cannot confirm the kidnapping.
What Do Officials Say?
The Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Jakarta has responded cautiously.
Yevhenia Shynkarenko, Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires, said the embassy is aware of the viral footage. But they have not received any official confirmation from Indonesian authorities.
She added that no formal request for assistance has come from the family.
As of now, Ukraine can neither confirm nor deny the kidnapping.
What Happened in Bali?
According to viral posts, Igor Komarov was abducted on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in South Kuta while vacationing with his girlfriend, influencer Yeva Mishalova.
Soon after, a three-minute video appeared online. In it, Komarov appears injured, with visible facial bruises and a bandaged arm.
He claims his captors are demanding $10 million. The kidnappers allegedly say the ransom is repayment for funds stolen by his father’s criminal network in Dnipro.
In another clip, a man identified as Komarov admits to running fraudulent call centers targeting Russian citizens. The authenticity of these videos remains unverified.
Bali Police Launch Massive Security Sweep
Indonesian authorities have intensified security across Bali.
Police increased patrols and set up roadside inspections across the Sarbagita metropolitan region, including South Kuta, Denpasar, and Gianyar.
On Monday night alone, officers inspected more than 170 vehicles in a two-hour operation.
So far, no suspects or vehicles connected to the alleged kidnapping have been identified.
Officials say the operation aims to limit potential movement of perpetrators and maintain public safety.
Did Social Media Play a Role?
Investigators are examining whether public social media posts helped kidnappers track the couple.
Yeva Mishalova reportedly shared Valentine’s Day photos from Bali, tagging specific locations.
Authorities believe such real-time updates may have exposed their movements.
Who Is Igor Komarov?
Igor Komarov is reportedly the son of Oleksandr “Narik” Petrovsky, a figure long associated with organized crime in Ukraine.
The ransom claim, tied to alleged stolen funds, suggests the case could be linked to underworld disputes rather than a random abduction.
However, no official agency has confirmed this connection.
At this stage, the kidnapping claim remains unverified.
Authorities continue investigations in Bali. Ukrainian diplomats await official confirmation.
Until police release verified details, the viral ransom video should be treated with caution.
