    Video game industry leader Vince Zampella died on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was 55 years old. Zampella was a key creator behind the famous “Call of Duty” series.

    He died in a serious car accident in Southern California. The crash happened on the Angeles Crest Highway during the day.

    Details of the Crash

    Reports say Zampella was driving his Ferrari. The car was heading south. It crashed into a concrete barrier just after coming out of a tunnel.

    The vehicle caught fire after the impact. There was also a passenger in the car. That person was thrown from the vehicle.

    The driver, Zampella, could not get out. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger later died from injuries in the hospital.

    Police are still investigating the crash. They have not said if drugs or alcohol were involved.

    A Legendary Career and Fortune

    Vince Zampella had a huge impact on gaming. His work helped shape modern video games. He was a co-founder of the studio Infinity Ward, which created “Call of Duty.”

    He also helped start Respawn Entertainment. That studio made hit games like “Apex Legends” and “Titanfall.” At his death, he was an executive at the giant company Electronic Arts (EA).

    His successful career earned him a large fortune. Celebrity Net Worth estimates his net worth was around $40 million. He earned this from his work on some of the world’s most popular games.

    The Industry Mourns

    Electronic Arts released a sad statement. They called Zampella a friend, colleague, and visionary. They said his work inspired millions of players and developers.

    His legacy includes shaping how games are made. He also changed how players connect with each other online. Games like “Call of Duty” became a major part of pop culture.

    Zampella once said it felt good to see his game mentioned on television all the time. He knew his project had made a lasting impact.

    The gaming world has lost a true pioneer. Vince Zampella’s creations will continue to entertain players for many years to come.
