Elsie Hewitt spent her first New Year’s Eve as a new mother. She shared her experience online. The 29-year-old model and Pete Davidson welcomed their baby daughter on December 12.
Hewitt posted several photos to her Instagram Stories. She showed how her holiday celebration changed this year. She asked other new parents a question in her caption.
“What are all the new parents doing this New Year’s Eve?” Hewitt wrote. She wanted to know if their night felt very different from past years.
A Contrast in Celebrations
Hewitt made a clear comparison with her photos. First, she shared a picture from last year’s party. The image showed her fully dressed up for a glamorous night out.
She wore a stylish black outfit with flower designs. Her hair was in a neat bun. Her makeup featured gold eyeshadow and bright red lipstick. She posed in front of shiny black and gold decorations.
“Me last new year’s eve,” she wrote on that photo.
The next picture showed her New Year’s Eve this year. It was a simple selfie taken at home. Hewitt smiled without any makeup on. Her baby daughter, Scottie Rose, was visible in a crib behind her.
The photo also showed a stroller and a special pillow for nursing. “Me this new years eve,” was her caption. She added a crying-laughing emoji to show her mixed feelings.
Life After Welcoming Their Daughter
Hewitt and comedian Pete Davidson announced their baby’s birth on Instagram. The post went up nearly a week after she was born. It included several sweet family photos.
“my best work yet,” Hewitt wrote in the caption. She said she was full of love, gratitude, and surprise. Davidson, 32, added his own comment: “wu tang forever.”
The early days of motherhood were not easy for Hewitt. She recently needed dental surgery. She had to get a wisdom tooth removed right after leaving the hospital with her baby.
“who else had to get a wisdom tooth removed… the day after they gave birth,” she wrote on another Instagram Story. The post showed her and her newborn in the back of a car.
Adjusting to Postpartum Life
Last week, Hewitt was honest about her recovery. She posted a mirror selfie wearing a black t-shirt and postpartum underwear.
“Adult diapers all day (& night),” she wrote on the picture. She clarified a common question from followers. She said they are not for urination but for postpartum bleeding.
A source close to the couple spoke to PEOPLE magazine. They said Hewitt and Davidson are finding their new routine. “They’re settling into a rhythm,” the source said. They are taking things day by day and enjoying time with their daughter.
Hewitt first confirmed her pregnancy in July 2024. She posted photos on Instagram, including a sonogram image. She joked in her caption, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex.”
